Dave C. Hanson

 

An internationally produced, award winning playwright, actor and comedian, known for Waiting for Waiting For GodotInside Amy Schumer, and Chelsea Lately.

Originally from Olympia, Washington, Dave studied Theatre and English Literature at Whittier College and trained in improv, sketch comedy and acting in both New York and Los Angeles. 

As a playwright, Dave is a member of the Actor’s Studio Playwright/Director’s Unit. His international hit comedy Waiting for Waiting For Godot has enjoyed productions in New York, London, Los Angeles, Boston, Istanbul and others. Most recently his comedy drama The Tenants took home Best Play at the New York Theater Festival’s Winterfest 2020. Other produced and published works include The Exit Interview, Cafe d'Automatique, and Thank You For Letting Me Have Sex With You.

Dave is also a former writer and producer for Chelsea Lately on the E! Network, Inside College Football (CBS Sports), Inside Sports (Versus) and executive producer for The Inactives, a comedy sports talk show pilot for CBS Sports Network.

As an actor, Dave has been featured in the hit comedy Trainwreck, starring Amy Schumer, directed by Judd Apatow, for Universal Studios. Other TV & Film credits include Inside Amy Schumer (Comedy Central), The Detour (TBS), The Onion News Network (IFC), Chelsea Lately (E!), The Ghost Whisperer (CBS), Carnivale (HBO), Gamers (Sideshow Prod.) & Sparks (Sideshow Prod.)

New York theatre credits include Sam (u/s) in The Flick at The Barrow Street Theatre, Val in Waiting for Waiting For Godot (2013 NYC Fringe), Matt in Breaking Up With My Mom (C10), Rich in The French Waitress (Gene Frankel), Gene in His & Hers (ATA) and Michael Regan in The Boss (Metropolitan Playhouse), which was a New York Time's critic's pick.

Dave is a member of the Collective New York, The Stillwater Writing Group, The Dramatists Guild of America, SAG-AFTRA & AEA. He also writes and performs regularly with the New York sketch group The Shorts Show and is a graduate of the UCB Theatre in New York..
